The Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting Actionmarguerite’s payroll function and will lead the Payroll Team to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions. The role collaborates with the payroll team to prepare, process, and submit bi‑weekly payroll, meet associated reporting requirements, and handle year‑end processes using the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
The Senior Payroll Coordinator reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with other HR team members. The incumbent will provide services to all Actionmarguerite sites and applicable service contracts.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Formal education in bookkeeping and payroll accounting, such as a Canadian Payroll Association certification, or related education and experience in a computerized payroll environment.
- Five years of practical experience with complete payroll functions, preferably in a health care setting.
- Experience in a computerized payroll environment (knowledge of Quadrant Workforce is an asset).
- Demonstrated proficiency in a Windows environment and MS Office software.
- Experience working with collective agreements (asset).

- Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) or a commitment to develop French linguistic abilities.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently without supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for recent processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures, including documentation of key payroll processes.
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
- Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance.
- Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.
This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full‑time equivalence.
