JOB SUMMARY

This exciting dual-purpose role supports both our Packaging Leader and Senior Cellar Brewer, providing hands-on assistance across brewing operations while developing technical knowledge and leadership skills. You will help ensure a safe, efficient and high-quality flow of beer from fermentation through to finished packaged product. Packaging operations typically run 2–3 days per week (cans, kegs and bottles), while cellar operations continue throughout the week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging Responsibilities

Assist with the safe and efficient operation of our 48 cans-per-minute canning line.

Prepare packaging materials, line set-up and changeovers.

Perform cleaning and sanitation (CIP/COP).

Support in-process quality control and finished goods inspection.

Complete packaging documentation and prepare for subsequent runs.

Help achieve Right First Time (RFT) and On Time, In Full, No Errors (ONTIFNE) performance.

Cellar Responsibilities

Support wort receiving, yeast management, fermentation and maturation.

Perform transfers, dry hopping, blending, clarification, filtration and carbonation.

Prepare tanks and equipment using approved CIP procedures.

Collect quality samples and record production data in OLLIE and Basecamp.

Work closely with the Senior Cellar Brewer to maintain product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Execute daily tasks according to the rolling production schedule.

Support monthly and quarterly production targets.

Maintain exceptional housekeeping and hygiene standards.





Accurately complete production and quality documentation.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with brewing, packaging and warehouse teams.

Quality Responsibilities

Follow all brewery quality specifications and SOPs.

Perform quality checks and escalate deviations immediately.

Maintain complete product traceability records.

Protect beer quality through careful handling and sanitation.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Follow Safe Work Procedures and wear required PPE.

Report hazards, incidents and near misses immediately.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Support a positive safety culture.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must be 19 years of age or older according to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Minimum 1 year of formal education in Brewing, Food Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Strong planning and organisational skills.

Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Computer literacy and ability to use production software.

Preference will be given to those with:

Previous brewery or food manufacturing experience.

Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food safety systems.

Experience operating automated packaging equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Full time, permanent.

Ability to lift up to 25 kg.

Ability to stand for lengthy periods during the shift.





Position requires taste-testing of alcoholic products.

Pay: $18.62-$22.56 per hour
