Become a vital part of Medicine Hat Public School Division as a Part time First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Support Worker. This role emphasizes culturally responsive support and collaboration with Indigenous families. MHPSD is seeking a supportive individual to help integrate FNMI educational programming. You will work closely with the FNMI Teacher Coordinator, classroom teachers, and community members to strengthen initiatives focused on reconciliation.
Your role will center around building inclusive learning environments and fostering relationships with Indigenous students and their families. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic, culturally responsive support for FNMI students
- Engage families to build respectful home-school relationships
- Create inclusive learning spaces that celebrate Indigenous identities
- Design and deliver curriculum-connected educational activities
- Collaborate with educators to enhance FNMI support programs Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies or related fields
- Experience with children, youth, and families in educational settings
