Fraser Health, British Columbia’s largest health authority, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide care to our diverse patient population in a dynamic and fulfilling environment. This position will be based across multiple sites with a 1.0 FTE composed of the Abbotsford Senior Clinic, Ridge Meadows Hospital Consultation Liaison, Eagle Ridge Hospital Consultation Liaison, Royal Columbian Hospital Consultation Liaison/ Psychiatric Urgent Response Clinic (PURC).

Responsibilities

- Deliver exceptional care to patients with acquired brain injuries and older adult patients served by the Fraser Health Geriatric Mental Health team within an interdisciplinary framework.
- Consult with Geriatric psychiatrists at the mental health center.




- Actively engage in outreach to patients' residences.
- Collaborate with attending physicians in Assisted Living and Long-Term Care facilities.
- Perform assessment, outpatient treatment, consultation, conduct family meetings, facilitate case conferences, plan discharges, and impart knowledge to geriatric psychiatry residents and medical students.
- Ensure continuity of care by fostering strong cooperative relationships with all relevant partners involved in patient care and advocate for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.
- Participate in the ECT roster and ER on-call duties as mandatory requirements.
