Job Overview The Leduc School of Music and Art Inc. is seeking a Piano Teacher. The ideal candidate has undergone years of formal piano training themselves, and/or has gone through, or is in, a college level music program. This candidate understands how to structure a private piano lesson such that all the components of piano technique, rhythm reading, and note reading are taught, and the candidate understands how to assist students in learning new repertoire.

The piano teacher enjoys interacting with students, and is able to develop a students’ confidence and skills within a positive and enjoyable learning workplace.

Skills Required

Provide individualized piano instruction to students of varying skill levels, and be responsive to the individual student and able to tailor lessons to their unique needs and goals.

In the case of beginner students,



have some ease with using established piano method material, thereby teaching music theory, sight-reading and ear training alongside of piano repertoire and piano lesson books.

Supplement method books with teaching chords, and be able to utilize additional material such as books with pop melodies and chords, or other engaging piano solo material found within our studio or within Leduc’s Own Music Shop.

Be able to use tactile teaching aids and small rhythm instruments in support of teaching concepts presented in piano method books.

Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress, challenges, and recommendations for practice.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
