About the OpportunityOur client, a well established and growing Ottawa based manufacturer, is seeking two Production Supervisors to join its Operations team. With a robust order pipeline and continued growth, the organization is expanding its production capacity by introducing a second shift and modernizing its manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative leadership team where you will play a key role in driving productivity, developing employees, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead production teams across an entire shift, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while fostering a positive, accountable, and collaborative workplace culture.DutiesLead and coach production employees and Lead Hands to achieve daily production objectivesCoordinate labour, materials, and workflow to meet production schedules and delivery targetsMonitor productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance across the shiftIdentify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiencySupport workforce planning, scheduling, attendance management, and vacation coordinationPromote and enforce health and safety policies and company proceduresCollaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Scheduling, and other departments to resolve operational issuesParticipate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management,
and employee developmentDrive continuous improvement initiatives and support process changes throughout the plantMaintain accurate production reporting and communicate operational updates to plant leadershipAbout YouPost secondary education in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership experience as a Team Lead, Lead Hand, or Production SupervisorDemonstrated leadership, coaching, and people management skillsExperience in a unionized manufacturing or construction environment is considered a strong assetKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, and production planningExperience interpreting production schedules, manufacturing drawings, and operational metricsStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and WordExperience with ERP or production management systems is considered an assetStrong communication, problem solving, organizational, and relationship building skillsBilingualism (English/French) is considered an assetAbout the JobPosition: Permanent, Full TimeSalary: $78,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experienceLocation: Ottawa, OntarioWork Environment: Full time onsite manufacturing environmentShift: Monday to Friday, either 6:00 a.M. to 2:30 p.M. or 2:30 p.M. to 11:00 p.M., with flexibility to support both shifts as operational needs requireBenefits: Comprehensive health and dental coverage after three months, paid vacation, personal leave, onsite parking, and opportunities for career growth within a collaborative, family-owned organization.LROGOVApplicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.#J-18808-Ljbffr
