Positive Overview:
We are always on the lookout for talented Project Associates / Engineers-In-Training (EIT) to join our Building Restoration Consulting Team in Halifax. As a Project Associate / EIT, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service and solutions to our clients. You'll be immersed in a cooperative, multidisciplinary environment and gain hands‑on experience in a range of project phases while representing Sense Engineering with a level of professionalism and dedication that sets us apart in the industry.
General Responsibilities:
- Attitude: Exhibit a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team spirit. Take ownership of your work and focus on providing solutions.
- Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.
- Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of structural design and analysis, building science, life cycle analysis and costing while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Assist in building evaluations, structural assessments, site reviews, and investigations.
- Support project coordination and contribute to successful project delivery.
- Liaise with clients, contractors,
and consultants to ensure seamless communication.
- Prepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.
- Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Building Science, Restoration Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
- Previous co‑op or internship experience in the engineering consulting field is considered a strong asset.
- Registered with or eligible for registration with provincial engineering association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client‑centric mindset.
- Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
