Join the Island Gold District team and be a part of the long-life mining operations, as we prioritize our employee growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability.Role OverviewThe Surface Maintenance Planner will be responsible for developing and coordinating detailed maintenance plans for camps, residential accommodations, fixed surface infrastructure, utilities, and buildings. Using SAP as the primary CMMS, the planner shall ensure accurate work order management, resource forecasting, preventative maintenance scheduling, and overall readiness for safe execution. This role supports asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective maintenance and operations across all surface facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning and SchedulingCreating and managing short- and long-term maintenance plans within SAP for camp and accommodation facilities, surface buildings and infrastructure assetsDeveloping detailed job plans including labour requirements, materials, tools, safety controls, permits, drawings,



and access needsMaintaining and optimizing preventative maintenance programs in SAP, including task lists, frequencies and maintenance strategiesSupporting weekly and monthly scheduling processes by ensuring work orders in SAP are fully planned, ready and prioritized appropriatelySAP Work ManagementConverting notifications into well-defined SAP work orders with clear scope, job steps and required resourcesEnsuring work orders are execution-ready, including material staging, permits, isolation/LOTO requirements, technical documentation, and contractor needsManaging and analyzing SAP backlog, ensuring appropriate priority settings, asset hierarchy accuracy, and timely updates to work order statusUsing SAP reporting tools to support KPI tracking, backlog health reviews, schedule compliance, and continuous improvement initiativesMaintaining and updating SAP equipment master data to support accurate planning and asset life cycle managementCoordination and CommunicationWorking closely with Supervisors, Superintendents, Health, Safety, Environmental, Supply Chain and Contractors to ensure efficient executionLeading daily and weekly planning meetingsCommunicating job requirements, risk controls, and sequencing clearly through SAP documentation and planning packagesMaterials, Procurement and Cost ControlIdentifying material needs early and creating SAP reservations, purchase requisitions, and pick listsTracking delivery status through SAP and adjusting plans based on material availabilityProviding labour and cost estimates using SAP data and support forecasting for annual budgeting and quarterly forecastingSafety and ComplianceIntegrating all required safety procedures, hazard controls, and regulatory requirements into SAP job plans and preventative maintenance tasksEnsuring documentation and asset records in SAP support compliance with inspection, environmental and life-safety standardsPromoting safe execution through detailed planning, risk awareness, and thorough field verificationRequiredSkills, Knowledge, Qualifications and ExperienceTechnical diploma, trade certificate,
