Our business development team members are the bridge between academia and industry partners or organizations. They spot opportunities and take action on behalf of Mitacs. They are at the forefront of marketing Mitacs programs and are analogous to matchmakers, who find the common interests between companies and researchers.Responsibilities:Work closely with members of Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high‑quality programmingWork closely with stakeholders at Queen’s University to fully understand the needs of the researchers and students, find industry opportunities, and identify the best programs to leverage the research opportunities uncoveredCreate and maintain a network of partners/clients in industry and academia, namely in the Kingston region and surrounding areaIntroduce companies and not‑for‑profit organizations to various Mitacs programsIntroduce companies to various university researchersProvide support to the Business Development team as neededProvide business development support to all Mitacs programs as neededProvide business development and student engagement support to Queen’s UniversityWork collaboratively with Queen’s University offices involved in the administration of Mitacs programs such as the Research Services, Partnerships and Innovation, School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs and Career Services to:Ensure clarity of roles of the various parties involved in Mitacs administrationPlan strategically and operationally means by which to increase participation in Mitacs programsPromote opportunities through University channels and beyondAssist in negotiating the necessary agreements to facilitate discussions and collaborations between University and industry partnersQualifications:Recent Masters or PhD,
