Email Job Type: Full Time Salary Range: $65,572 to $72,533 annually Community Living Algoma is currently searching for the ideal candidate to fill the position of Recruitment & Human Resources Coordinator. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-orientated professional to join our team who will be able to effectively prioritize workflow, operate with a high level of integrity and adaptable and responsive to change. The Recruitment & Human Resources Coordinator reports to the Director of Human Resources and is primarily responsible for leading Community Living Algoma’s recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives.

As a strategic business partner, the incumbent works collaboratively with managers to identify workforce needs, develop proactive recruitment strategies, and support organizational objectives through effective talent acquisition, onboarding, and human resources practices. Secondary responsibilities include providing HR administrative support and assisting with staff development initiatives.

Essential Functions Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for unionized and non-unionized positions.

Act as a strategic business partner by collaborating with managers to understand workforce needs, develop recruitment strategies, and provide guidance on recruitment and selection best practices.

Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.

Build relationships with colleges, universities, employment agencies and community partners.

Creatively advertise for vacancies through various recruitment platforms, develop recruitment marketing materials, educational institutions, community agencies and social media.

Assist with HR administration,



respond to HR recruitment and staff related inquiries

Screen applications, evaluate qualifications and prepare candidate shortlists.

Coordinate interviews, interview panels and candidate communications.

Conduct screenings, participate in interviews and assist hiring managers throughout the selection process.

Complete thorough reference checks, background checks and employment verifications.

Prepare employment offers, new hire documentation and onboarding.

Monitor recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, applicant sources and recruitment effectiveness.

Coordinate career fairs, recruitment events and community outreach initiatives.

Promote Community Living Algoma as an employer of choice.

Assist in the administration, coordination and implementation of staff development to ensure we meet our staff requirements.

Ability to problem solve, maintain a strict sense of confidentiality, promote positive employer/employee relations, promote a safe, healthy, respectful workplace, be self-directed, able to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure of deadlines. Solid knowledge in HR practices.

Ability to multitask and effectively organize and prioritize workload to ensure the HRIS system is efficiently updated and maintained.

Work with international candidates throughout application process on proper visa requirements

Attention to detail, ability to gather and analyze information using sound judgement.





Stay current with recruiting methods; coordinate events such as job fairs

Other recruiting assignments and/or projects as may be assigned Requirements Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration; CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards is considered an asset. Minimum of two years’ job related experience in recruitment and human resources, preferably in a unionized setting.

Knowledge of current and relevant legislation i.e., Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as knowledge of Collective agreement provisions. Excellent time management, organizational skills, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a highly professional multi-disciplinary team environment.

Proficiency with MS Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)

A valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.

Abilities to speak, read and write in both English and French would be an asset.
