Young Minds Preschool is a Reggio inspired Preschool. We are hiring an Early Childhood educator who will be responsible for fostering a love for learning, stimulating, influencing and caring for the children in their classroom environment. Their principle responsibilities include maintaining a high quality setting, assessing, observing and caring for the individual needs of every child, educating children in accordance to our schools learning philosophy for their age group, maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members, and always exemplifying professionalism at all times

Responsibilities

- The primary responsibility of the RECE is to coordinate and lead his/her team in planning and implementing a program that provides for the optimal, physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing of the children in his/her care.
- Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
- Directs and participates with children in planned activities.
- Takes initiative in completing tasks without direction
- Effectively supervises children on all scheduled school walks, field trips and other outings
- Completes children’s progress reports as scheduled
- Is sensitive to parents needs and maintains a supportive relationship with them on a skilled level while following center policies.

Success

- The successful candidate will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to practice, plan and implement activities that are appropriate to children’s developmental stage.




- The candidate will need to have ensured they are providing high quality care to children and families and ensuring they foster a nurturing learning environment where the children can grow and excel.
- The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate some understanding of the Reggio Emilia inspired learning approach.
- The candidate will need to demonstrate their knowledge on the image of a child.

Qualifications

- An ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario College or equivalent
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
- Current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check Vulnerable Sector
- Up to date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test
- Strengths in organizational skills, communication skills, parent education, and leadership
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Confident and flexible professionalism
- Love of outdoors
- Tech savvy

Compensation

Compensation rates will be determined by their level of experience.
