Reliability & Performance Specialist (FTT)

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds A03

Employment type: Temporary Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

Annual salary: $ 104,800.00 - 112,800.00

What you'll do

- Develops large scale computer applications, dashboards and database systems for reliability and asset health including:

a) investigating existing manual or computer systems/work procedures, establishing criteria for system evaluation and developing conceptual design alternatives; b) assessing effects on databases; hardware and software; may develop specifications for new or modified application systems; c) designing or coordinating the design of inputs, outputs, controls and datafile structures, developing mathematical/technical models and using simulation techniques; d) writing, modifying and testing the software ensuring conformance with system objectives and interface with related computer systems, etc.; e)

evaluating and interpreting results of system, proposing alternative design, changes or modifications and preparing report on findings; f) implementing the system and training the users; g) documenting the system· coordinating the maintenance and updates to the system; h) making recommendations for future studies.

- Performs a full range of complex analyses/ studies relating to transmission & distribution systems, such as the projected

impact of Electric Vehicles on the Utility System and Setting Reliability Targets, including: a)



defining study parameters and identifying objectives and scope; b) researching and collecting information from a wide variety of sources including external publications and research and existing methods, computer systems, inputs, outputs and functions; c) developing study methods and preparing project proposal(s); d) performing technically complex calculations or writing computer programs for assessment of technical data; e) evaluating the results; f) interpreting the results and preparing a report on findings; g)

making recommendations and presenting insights to stakeholders around reliability and asset health performance.

- Develops financial, economic and technical models or procedures for electrical transmission & distribution system studies;

interprets and analyzes reliability of data and makes recommendations to staff and management through monthly/quarterly reports, Annual Transmission & Distribution Service Performance Reports and ad-hoc requests; offer advice to staff and management as needed; reviews national/international standards and ensures compliance; administers and performs audits of reliability reporting process throughout the organization by developing questionnaire and setting standards, field visits and investigations and reports.
- Performs project management duties including: a) scheduling and controlling projects; b) proposing new projects; c)

amending projects as to scope, resources, time, etc.; d) establishing priorities in relation to other projects under way; e)

conducting cost/benefit analysis; f) monitoring projects and preparing progress reports; g) ensuring completeness of project work; h) maintaining status files and preparing final report.

- Provides technical advice and guidance relating to electrical transmission & distribution systems, project development

procedures and techniques and computer systems and applications to internal staff and external consultants.
- Develops and administers policies and procedures for the operation of Reliability and Asset Health applications and

dashboards..




- Liaises with Electricity Canada, First Quartile, and other organizations to ensure consistency of reporting and improve

standards by providing data, reports and participation in workshops and making recommendations for improvement.
- Maintains Reliability & Asset Health content on team site.

- Develops, organizes and conducts training sessions and seminars of a technical nature.

- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.

What you bring

- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline; and six (6) years

experience in systems development, data analysis, data modelling and electrical power systems design capacity.

OR

- Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline; and eight (8) years

experience in systems development, data analysis, data modelling and electrical power systems design capacity. What we offer

- This is a 12-month full-time temporary (FTT) position.

- Work is performed in a normal office setting. May be required to occasionally travel overnight.

- Experience with python, statistical modeling, power BI is considered in an asset.
