About this positionThis is a high-travel, field-based CDL driving position requiring travel throughout Canada for extended periods (3‑4 months at a time). With over 95 years of industry leadership, Sperry continues to advance rail safety through innovation, cutting‑edge technology, and a strong commitment to operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesTravel extensively (3‑4 months at a time) within assigned regionsPerform all work in the field in varied and sometimes extreme weather conditionsOperate commercial vehicles (hi‑rail trucks and rail‑bound detector cars) on roadways and railroad tracksPerform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspectionsMaintain DOT compliance, including driver logs, inspections, and regulatory requirementsAssist with rail flaw detection testing and data collectionMonitor and interpret data on onboard computer systemsPerform ground‑level rail inspections using handheld equipmentAssist with the repair and maintenance of the detector carriage and equipmentMaintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and equipmentFollow all company safety policies and DOT/FRA regulationsWear required PPE at all timesComplete required training,
