Role Description The Residential Structural Engineer (P.Eng) will provide engineering design and analysis for residential projects, including renovations, additions, and new builds. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering calls, bidding projects, site inspections, performing structural calculations, preparing drawings and specifications, reviewing architectural plans, and developing engineering construction packages. The role involves conducting answering client requests, site visits and inspections,



assessing existing structures and load-bearing wall removals, and preparing clear reports and recommendations for homeowners, contractors, and municipal reviewers.

The engineer will coordinate with internal team members and external partners to ensure designs meet Ontario Building Code requirements and industry standards. This is a full time hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, with a mix of in-office/site work and work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario

Strong analytical skills in structural analysis and structural engineering for residential projects.

Proficiency in engineering calculations related to beams, columns, foundations, and load paths.

Background in civil engineering with a focus on building structures and local codes.

Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools to produce clear, permit-ready drawings.

Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal permitting processes.

Ability to conduct site inspections, identify structural issues, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple residential projects simultaneously.

Experience in residential consulting or design-build environments is an asset.
