About the job

Coulee Scoop is a local pet waste removal service in Lethbridge. We clean residential yards on a weekly schedule, plus commercial properties. Clients subscribe, we show up, the yard is clean. Easy business, and it works because we are consistent.

We are hiring one route technician to take over our existing routes. Our current tech is heading back to school, so this is a permanent position with an established client base already in place. You are not building a route from scratch. You are stepping into one that runs.

Schedule

Routes run Wednesdays and Thursdays, both days, every week.

Start time is up to you. You choose when to begin and the route needs to be finished by dinner. There is no shift to clock into and no daily check-in.

What you will do

- Run your route on Wednesdays (north and south Lethbridge) and Thursdays (west side), finishing by around dinner time
- Walk each client's yard, remove all pet waste, and dispose of it properly
- Check gates are latched and yards are left exactly as you found them
- Log each completed visit in our scheduling app (Jobber) from your phone
- Text or call the office about anything unusual: aggressive dog, locked gate, yard that needs extra time

What you need

- Reliability. If you commit to a day, you are there. Everything else we can teach.
- A reliable vehicle and a valid Alberta driver's licence
- A cell phone with active service, for texting and for logging jobs in the app
- Comfortable working outdoors year round, including cold and wet days
- Comfortable around dogs (most yards are empty during service, but not always)




- Physically able to walk yards for several hours and lift up to 25 lbs

No experience required. We will train you on the route and the app.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Lethbridge neighbourhoods
- Previous route work, delivery, landscaping, or lawn care experience
- Availability to take on additional hours as we grow

What we offer

- $20.00/hour plus mileage, which has worked out to roughly $27/hour on average for our previous techs
- Paid biweekly by direct deposit

- Hours increase through winter and spring, with room to take on more as the business grows

The honest part

This job is exactly what it sounds like. You are picking up dog poop in people's backyards. Some yards are worse than others. Winter routes are cold. If that is a dealbreaker, this is not the job for you, and that is completely fair.

What we hear from people who stick with it: it is quiet, you are outside, nobody is micromanaging you, and the work is genuinely satisfying when you look back at a yard you just cleared.
