We invest in our people through support for mental, emotional, and physical well-being, professional development programs, and initiatives that promote equitable opportunities and sustainable construction.OpportunityAs part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon‑led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025, Aecon will support the construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. The EHS Advisor will actively promote a healthy and safe culture to all employees and ensure compliance with regulations, safe work practices, and procedures.What You’ll Do HereSupport project‑specific conventional safety and environmental management plans, including inspections, audits, observations, coaching, Worker Trades Committee, and JHSC.Train project staff in conventional safety procedure requirements.Track and report safety statistics, manage Return to Work and Modified Duties cases at the field level.Assist with Human Performance program activities and develop JSA, High Hazard, Critical Lifting, and Handling forms.Participate as a management member of Joint Health and Safety Committees and conduct behavioural observations in the workplace.Update Material Safety Data Sheets as required and develop workplace plans such as emergency evacuations, fire emergencies, traffic controls, and fall protection.Distribute safety materials, supplies,



and equipment and present safety information to clients.Conduct studies, analyze accident trends, inspect project facilities, and recommend corrective actions.Coordinate activities of site safety coordinators and assist with workers' compensation claims.Develop return to work and modified work programs, investigate accidents/incidents, mediate health and safety issues, liaise with government agencies, and assist with external safety audits.Coordinate environmental issues and gather statistical information for tender packages.Perform other duties as assigned.What You Bring To The TeamCHSO or CRSP designation.Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear construction industry.Relevant post‑secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.Team player who accepts and manages change regularly.Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to manage sub‑contractor safety performance.Experience with emergency planning and hot work procedures.Capability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders if required.Comfortable with traveling to different work locations and job sites.Ability to work with limited supervision and be proactive.Champion of inclusion and diversity.Excellent verbal and written communication.Adaptable to a adaptable work schedule when required to meet deadlines.Valid driver’s license.Compensation and BenefitsPay Range: $85,000 – $110,000 per year.
