Job title: Software Tester
Location: Saanichton BC V8M 2A5
Duration: 6 months
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud QA Engineer with strong test automation expertise to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building robust automation frameworks and is comfortable working in modern cloud‑native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright
- Create and execute end-to-end (E2E), UI, API, and integration tests for cloud-based applications
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure high‑quality releases
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing in cloud environments
- Identify defects, log detailed bugs, and work closely with engineering teams for resolution
- Validate microservices, APIs, and distributed system behaviors in cloud platforms
- Contribute to testing best practices, standards, and quality processes
- Monitor test results and maintain test coverage and reliability metrics
Required Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 6+ years of experience in QA/Test Automation
Strong Hands-on Experience With
- Cypress for front-end/UI automation
- Playwright for cross-browser automation
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience testing cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Solid Understanding Of
- REST APIs and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Supertest)
- Microservices architecture
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter)
- Knowledge of security testing practices
- Experience with test reporting tools (Allure, Mochawesome, etc.)Exposure to BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
- Understanding of observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing)

Nice To Have
- Experience working with event‑driven architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD quality gates and shift‑left testing
