About The OpportunityOur Public Sector client is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support the continued modernization of a large-scale digital recruitment platform. This is an existing contract chance supporting the transition from an internally developed web portal to a modern cloud-based solution that must continue to integrate with existing enterprise and mission-critical systems.The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, technical teams, functional authorities, and other stakeholders to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. The role will also support the standardization of documentation practices across major capability releases.Duties include but are not limited to:Identify documentation requirements for major capability releases, including manuals, design documentation, test documentation, user guides, training materials, online help content, and implementation guidesCoordinate the development and formal release of documentation with functional managers, technical teams, and team leadsDevelop documentation templates that follow Government of Canada documentation standardsPlan, design, edit, and, where required, produce final releasable versions of technical and project documentationConduct quality assurance reviews of documentation prepared for major capability releasesParticipate in Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Formal Qualification ReviewsPrepare meeting minutes and records of decision arising from design reviews and other project meetingsCoordinate and assist with the translation of documentationProvide technical documentation advice and guidance to the project teamDraft briefing notes, presentations, status reports, agendas, meeting minutes,
and other project materialsAttend and actively participate in meetings and prepare records of discussionPrepare progress reportsAbout YouThe successful candidate will have the following:Certificate, diploma or degree in the area of specialization from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institutionA minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years providing technical writing and documentation services in a large, complex IT environmentA minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years producing technical documentation for enterprise-level applicationsExperience producing at least three (3) of the following document types:System or Solution Design DocumentsUser Guides or Operational ManualsTest Plans, Test Reports, or Test Readiness DocumentationTraining Materials or Online Help ContentImplementation or Deployment GuidesA minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years coordinating documentation development with multiple stakeholders, including technical teams, project managers, and functional authorities, within large or complex IT environmentsExperience developing documentation in accordance with Government of Canada documentation practices, including structured templates, version control, and release management processesExperience supporting bilingual English and French documentation processesExperience working on projects within the Government of Canada or another public sector organizationExperience producing documentation for integrated or mission-critical systems, including environments involving cloud platforms, legacy system integration, or systems handling protected or classified informationAbility to provide three (3) professional references who can validate the experience presentedA valid Secret-level security clearanceAbout the JobDuration: August 17, 2026, to July 16, 2027 (48 weeks)Work Environment: Westend Ottawa OntarioLanguage requirement: English EssentialSecurity requirement: Active Secret Clearance requiredLROGOVPlease note that all candidates must be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.#J-18808-Ljbffr
