Job Overview
Occupational Therapist – Temporary Part‑time position to provide therapy services in medical, surgical, and specialty units within acute care and post‑acute settings.
Employment Details
- Employment Status: Temporary Part‑time
- Duration: February 1, 2027
- Hourly Rate: $40.36 – $56.30 per hour
- Location: Primary – Wilson site; cross coverage – Finch and Church RCC sites
- Availability: Weekdays (Mon‑Fri); occasional weekend or statutory holiday at Wilson and Reactivation Care Centre (Finch)
- Reporting Relationship: Manager, Allied Health Services
- Employee Group: OPSEU 590
Position Responsibilities
- Provide Occupational Therapy services to referred patients in acute and post‑acute settings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment and deliver evidence‑based treatment.
- Record patient assessments, progress, and discharge status.
- Coordinate discharge planning with multidisciplinary team.
- Record workload measurement data.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team regarding services provided.
- Consult other disciplines on physical medicine matters.
- Supervise Rehabilitation Assistants in accordance with COOT‑O standards.
- Supervise students (OT, OTA/PTA) as required.
- Travel between Wilson, Church, and Finch sites; access to vehicle is an asset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Membership in CAOT preferred.
- Experience in an acute setting is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team‑orientated with solid interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Excellent attendance and a discipline‑free record.
- Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices.
