Senior Business Analyst (Healthcare)

Client: Service New Brunswick (SNB)

Location: Remote (Travel to New Brunswick twice annually if required)

Duration: 2 Years + Two 1-Year Extension Options

Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM AST

About the Opportunity

Service New Brunswick (SNB) is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (Healthcare) to support one of Canada's largest healthcare transformation initiatives. The project focuses on transitioning multiple hospital information systems into a unified Clinical Information System (CIS), enabling standardized clinical workflows and integrated healthcare technology across the province.

The successful consultant will collaborate with clinical stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, solution architects, vendors, and executive leadership to gather, analyze, validate, document, and implement business and technical requirements for enterprise healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end business analysis activities for enterprise healthcare transformation initiatives.

Conduct requirements elicitation sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, workflow assessments, and business process analysis.

Analyze current-state and future-state workflows.

Perform gap analysis and impact assessments.

Develop functional and technical requirements documentation.

Create user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, business process models, and solution documentation.

Work closely with physicians, nursing teams, allied health professionals, laboratory teams, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, operational leaders, and technical SMEs.

Identify impacted downstream applications and integration dependencies.

Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal technical teams.

Support Clinical Information System implementation, optimization, upgrades, migrations, consolidations, and replacement initiatives.

Develop readiness assessments, cutover plans, configuration workbooks, governance materials, and status reports.

Maintain project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.

Support solution design and technical planning activities.

Mentor junior Business Analysts when required.

Requirements Mandatory Qualifications (M1)

Education

Bachelor's Degree in one of the following:

Computer Science

Business Administration

Healthcare

Information Systems

Health Informatics or equivalent education and experience.

Mandatory Experience (M2)

Minimum 5+ years of Business Analysis experience leading large-scale Healthcare and/or Government Digital Transformation Programs including:

Business Analysis Leadership

Reviewing existing business and technical documentation.

Conducting business process analysis and workflow validation.

Producing business, functional, and technical documentation.

Facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions.

Supporting downstream application readiness.

Preparing integration documentation.

Producing process flows, workflow diagrams, user guides, and training materials.

Supporting governance committees with status reports and presentations.

Tracking risks, issues, and dependencies.

Supporting implementation planning, cutover activities, and solution deployment.

Coordinating with business owners, vendors, and technical teams throughout the healthcare transformation lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience delivering Business Analysis services on enterprise healthcare transformation initiatives, preferably within government healthcare organizations. They will have exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, deep knowledge of Clinical Information Systems, experience collaborating with clinical and technical teams, and a proven ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions. Candidates with previous experience supporting New Brunswick healthcare organizations, bilingual communication skills (English/French), and qualified certifications such as CBAP or PMP will be highly preferred.
