We are committed to safety, sustainability, and building strong partnerships with Indigenous communities while supporting environmental, social, and governance initiatives.As we continue to expand across Northern Ontario, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Controller to lead our accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and support strategic decision-making in a rapid-paced, project-based environment.Position SummaryThe Accounting Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, industrial services, or other project-based accounting environments, along with strong leadership and analytical skills.Reporting to the CFO, this role works closely with project controls and operations leadership to improve profitability, reporting accuracy,



and overall financial performance across multiple projects and divisions.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingPrepare monthly and annual financial statementsLead month-end and year-end close processesMaintain general ledger accuracy and account reconciliationsDevelop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and projectionsAnalyze financial performance and provide operational insights to managementPrepare KPI and project profitability reportingJob Costing & Project AccountingOversee project accounting and job costing processesSupport project teams with timely and accurate financial dataEnsure accurate revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion reporting where applicableReview contract billing, progress draws, hold-backs, and change ordersControls & ComplianceDevelop and maintain internal accounting controls and proceduresSupport continuous improvement of ERP/accounting systems and workflowsQualificationsCPA designation preferredBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting leadership experienceExperience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based environments strongly preferredCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $90,000-$175,000 annually, based on experience and qualificationsComprehensive benefits programLocationTemiskaming Shores, OntarioPosting Closes Aug 30th, 2026,Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.W B Melback Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
