And that’s where you come in.Job Description:We are looking for a Senior Software Analyst to join our Integration, Testing and Validation (ITV) team in Toronto!The Senior Software Analyst in Testing is responsible for ensuring the quality of software delivery for large scale rail signalling projects. The candidate will work with other software developers and systems engineers to create, execute and evaluate in house software tests and test plans. As senior member of the team, the role will involve technical leadership and mentoring of junior testers. As part of the software delivery team the candidate will gain experience in rail signalling and CBTC and develop a deep understanding of both the signalling systems and rail operation. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and skills in software testing and development. A proactive mind set and desire to make a difference will be key to the success of the role.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical:Performs analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods, and test casesDevelops and maintains test plans,



procedures and test casesPrepares test reports for pass and fail status of tests and identify root cause of failures reported during testingPlans and performs integration and test activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project commissioning riskDevelopment of test automationInvestigates test anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departmentsPrepares problem reports in the defect tracking system describing test failures and defectsAssists in the development of Software Assessment team (SWAT) schedules and budgets and associated progress reportConduct operational and stress-test (bust-it) scenariosConduct testing in laboratory environment and on desktop simulation environmentEffectively communicate test observation and results to engineering staff, supervisors and customersAdhere to the company’s Processes and Work InstructionsAcquires product knowledge through active participation in formal, and on the job training, as well as self-studyNon-TechnicalWork on several projects consecutively and demonstrate ability to deliver on time and on-budgetWork effectively cross functional teams and build long-term working relationship with othersPlan, organize and supervise testing activitiesCoach and train junior team members.Work independently, planning, prioritizing and scheduling own workContinuously seek and propose improvements to methods and processes utilized for testingSafetyPromote a safety culture where product safety is paramountEnsure that safety is built into the test strategy by early identification and resolution of safety related defectsRequired Skills and ExperienceB.Sc. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalentMinimum 5 years of relevant software testing or development experienceWorking knowledge of C, C++, Perl,
