Join NorWest Community Health Centres as a Peer Leader for the CDSMP. This volunteer position helps individuals with chronic conditions gain essential self-management skills.
As a Peer Leader, you will facilitate groups and help participants better manage their health. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of chronic diseases and excellent communication abilities, along with an empathetic approach to foster participant engagement. You do not need previous healthcare experience to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate online group discussions on health management
• Share effective self-management practices and insights
• Encourage participation and provide emotional support
• Assist with the organization of materials and resources
• Tailor discussions to suit participant needs
Requirements:
• Positive understanding of chronic disease management
• Strong empathy and communication skills
• No healthcare background required
• Commitment to participating in virtual training sessions
• Open to learning and sharing knowledge
