About the Role
Senior Project Manager As a Senior Project Manager at Carlson Construction Group, you will oversee complex heavy civil and marine construction projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, foster strong client relationships, and deliver projects safely, efficiently, and profitably. You will drive success from conception through completion, advance creative construction methodologies, and strengthen Carlson's position as an industry leader. What You'll Do Lead planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex heavy civil and marine construction projects. Plan, organize, direct, and control all phases of project operations. Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Manage project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, profitability, and reporting. Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and contractual revisions. Review and resolve contractual issues, including additions, deletions, claims, and dispute resolution. Collaborate with Project Administrators to oversee billing, accounts receivable, document control, and project reporting. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Coordinate the efficient deployment of personnel, equipment, materials, and project resources. Provide technical guidance and support for complex field operations and construction methodologies. Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and emerging construction professionals. Support business development initiatives,
client retention efforts, and strategic growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Registered, or eligible for registration, with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or ASTTBC. Minimum of 8‑10+ years of progressive project management experience, including significant experience leading heavy civil, marine, or infrastructure projects.
Strong working knowledge of: Heavy civil construction methods and practices Marine construction operations Cranes, barges, marine equipment, and related logistics Proven success managing subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong understanding of: Contract administration and risk management Project controls and scheduling Cost forecasting and financial management Experience preparing and reviewing: Purchase orders Change orders Project documentation and reports Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software systems.
Valid
Class 5 Driver's License.

Salary: $160 - $180k per annum The actual salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on job‑related factors, including relevant experience, years of experience, qualifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group’s compensation policy. What’s in it for you?
