Job Title: Senior Manual QA Engineer
Location: Remote (Canada) – PST preferred (Vancouver, BC candidates highly preferred)
Duration: 2 Months (Contract)

About The Client
Our client is a rapidly growing product-based organization specializing in SaaS-based Human Resource Management System (HRMS) solutions tailored for the public sector . Their enterprise-grade applications are used by thousands of users daily, offering scalable and integrated HR solutions to public institutions.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Manual QA Engineer to lead and execute manual testing activities across enterprise-scale HRMS platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manual QA , complex SQL , and an understanding of enterprise systems . While the primary focus is manual testing, familiarity with Selenium and Java for automation is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for web and enterprise applications.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing.
- Validate backend data by writing and executing complex SQL queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries).
- Analyze system requirements and collaborate with developers and product managers to define test strategies.
- Identify, document, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, ensuring clear communication and tracking through resolution.
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams, actively participating in sprint ceremonies and contributing to sprint deliverables.
- Support or maintain automated tests using Selenium WebDriver and Java (if applicable).
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior QA engineers when needed.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in manual QA testing within enterprise-scale environments.




- Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience with QA tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, and JIRA.
- Exposure to domains such as finance, healthcare, insurance, or other large-scale enterprise systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java for test automation.
- Experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Prior experience working on HRMS or other human resource platforms.
