Successful candidates may be offered opportunities to teach one or more courses on a term‑by‑term basis as departmental needs arise.We are seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise and professional experience in counselling psychology who are qualified to teach one or more of the following courses:CNPS 3310 – Theories of CounsellingCNPS 3320 – Career Counselling and Career EducationCNPS 3330 – Cultural Considerations in CounsellingCNPS 4300 – Counselling Relationships and Basic SkillsCNPS 4310 – The Reflective PractitionerCNPS 4330 – Group FacilitationCourse listings and descriptions are available at https://calendar.Kpu.Ca/courses-az/cnps/.Working conditions for faculty are outlined in Article 12 of the Kwantlen Faculty Association Collective Agreement.QualificationsA minimum of a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
Preference will be given to those with a PhD in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.Extensive experience and an exceptional record teaching undergraduate university courses in counselling psychology.Experience supervising students in practicing individual and group counselling skills.A solid understanding of the value of, and a demonstrated commitment to, a broad liberal arts tradition in education.Demonstrated potential to create courses that will contribute to the expansion of the department.Application RequirementsCandidates are asked to submit:A cover letter.Current curriculum vitae.Statement of teaching philosophy.Evidence of undergraduate teaching success (including course syllabi, outlines and evaluations).Sample of research or other publication.Copies of transcripts of graduate degrees.A list of three professional referees able to comment on your teaching ability and academic accomplishments.A complete application includes all of the documentation listed above.
