Fort Sask Reno

Fort Saskatchewan

Overview

Fort Sask Reno is looking for one exceptional tradesperson to help build our growing Service Division.

We're not looking for someone who can only hang drywall or install siding. We're looking for a well-rounded renovation professional who enjoys variety, solving problems, and building relationships with homeowners.

We're willing to pay top wages because we're looking for one of the best service technicians in the Edmonton region.

One day you may be repairing wind-damaged siding. The next, adjusting windows and doors, repairing drywall after a plumbing leak, replacing exterior caulking, rebuilding a deck railing, or completing a small renovation.

This is a senior role with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You'll be trusted to solve problems, make decisions, and represent Fort Sask Reno in our clients' homes every day. You'll work directly with homeowners, represent one of the Edmonton region's highest-rated renovation companies, and play an important role in the future growth of our Service Division.

If you're looking for the same production work every day, this probably isn't the right fit.

If you're looking for interesting work, top compensation, a high level of independence, and the opportunity to help build something special, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties

- You'll be trusted to independently diagnose problems, communicate solutions with homeowners, and complete high-quality repairs and small projects with minimal supervision.

Typical work includes:

- Siding, soffit, fascia and eavestrough repairs
- Window and door adjustments, repairs, and replacements
- Exterior and interior caulking and weatherproofing
- Drywall repairs, texture matching, and painting touch-ups
- Trim carpentry and finish carpentry
- Deck, fence, stair, and railing repairs
- Minor framing and general carpentry
- Water damage investigations and repairs
- Building envelope maintenance and repairs
- Small renovation and remodeling projects
- Warranty service calls and project punch lists
- Preventative home maintenance and seasonal service work
- Diagnosing building deficiencies and recommending practical repair solutions
- Conducting homeowner maintenance consultations and explaining repair options
- Identifying opportunities for additional repair or renovation work
- Preparing small material lists and accurately estimating repair requirements
- Performing minor material pickups and coordinating with suppliers as required

- Documenting work completed using CompanyCam and other mobile applications
- Communicating progress, site conditions, and client concerns with the office
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and qualified work environment
- Delivering exceptional customer service while representing the Fort Sask Reno brand

This is a unique opportunity to become a trusted professional that homeowners ask for by name. If you take pride in your work, enjoy solving problems, and want to help build something exceptional, we'd love to hear from you.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who:
- Has 10+ years of residential renovation experience across multiple trades.
- Maintains a clean, professional appearance and understands they represent the Fort Sask Reno brand at every client interaction.
- Can confidently work independently with minimal supervision.
- Has exceptional spoken and written English and can confidently communicate with homeowners, suppliers, subcontractors, and office staff.
- Is highly organized, dependable, and takes ownership of their work.
- Takes pride in clean, high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Is physically fit and capable of safely performing demanding renovation work, including climbing ladders, working overhead, kneeling, lifting, and carrying materials throughout the day.
- Is comfortable working from ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms while following safe work practices.
- Is comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and a variety of Alberta weather conditions.
- Can safely lift and carry building materials, tools, and equipment on a regular basis.
- Is comfortable using smartphones, tablets, CompanyCam, and other mobile apps to document work and communicate with the office.
- Owns a comprehensive set of professional-grade tools suitable for residential renovation service work.
- Holds a valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Able to accurately estimate small repair scopes and material requirements.
- Must successfully complete a criminal record check as a condition of employment.
- Must provide a current driver's abstract acceptable to Fort Sask Reno.

- Pre-employment and post-incident drug and alcohol testing may be required where permitted by law and where safety-sensitive work or client requirements apply.

What We Offer
- $40.00–$48.00/hour depending on experience and demonstrated ability
- Full-time, year-round employment
- Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement

- Interesting, varied work
- High level of independence and responsibility
- Long-term career growth
