THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, creating and managing content across social media platforms and the MFS North of 60 section of the CFMWS website.

Experience with Meta Business Suite or similar social media management tools is considered an asset.

Experience with basic graphic design and visual content creation (e.g., Canva or Adobe tools) is considered a strong asset.

You will develop, maintain, and continuously improve a resource directory by gathering, validating, and organizing information from local service providers, community organizations, and other sources to support military families in accessing supports within their communities.

You will build and maintain partnerships with community groups, support agencies, schools and other organizations to enhance service delivery.

The successful candidate will educate local community organizations on the unique aspects of military family life.





You will determine individual client needs, provide information and facilitate referrals to local service providers and mental health professionals, as required.

Bilingual communication (English/French) is considered an asset to support inclusive service delivery.

Experience as a member of a Canadian Armed Forces family, Veteran family, or a strong understanding of the military lifestyle journey is considered an asset.

Candidates with lived experience navigating the unique challenges and opportunities associated with military life, including relocations, deployments, operational absences, and transitions, will bring valuable insight to supporting military families and communities.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Social Science, Education, Administration, Community Development or a related field AND several years of experience in family support, social services or a related field

Experience

- In program and service delivery
- In developing and implementing community programs and services
- In creating briefing materials and presentations
- In community engagement
- In establishing, sustaining and fostering a network of community contacts and partnerships
- In applying policies, procedures and applicable legislation and regulations
- In developing standardized content and operational procedures
- In project management
- In marketing, communications, proofreading, layout and design
- In delivering family support services
- In planning, coordinating and conducting training (including adult education)
- In drafting correspondence
- In budget administration
- In working with a multidisciplinary team

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset.

Reading: Advanced Level

OTHER INFORMATION

- This is an on-site position with an assigned work location located at th Street, Yellowknife.
- Required to work some evenings and weekend events.
- Some travel required.
- Interviews will be conducted in person.
- As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening.
- As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
