In this role, you will work as a trusted cross‑functional partner on our Privileged Access Management (PAM) products, and have the opportunity to influence product and design decisions through your work.

You will own the research roadmap for PAM, working closely with your design, product, and engineer partners to ensure that your research is aligned to the highest priority needs of the product area, and informing both long and near‑term decisions. You’ll provide mentorship and coaching to more junior researchers, helping raise the quality bar and impact of the team. PAM’s goal is to develop a product that enables Okta customers to confidently provide secure, privileged access for authorized accounts, and gain granular visibility into account activity.

Grow and develop a research practice aimed at understanding the needs of the PAM sphere, collaborate with stakeholders to craft research questions and execute research Scope, prioritize, organize, and manage research initiatives across these teams. Exercise flexibility in research methodology (as appropriate for the product space and timeline) by designing and utilizing generative studies or evaluative research, appropriately. Facilitate cross‑discipline research to drive clarity and decision‑making.

Design mechanisms to build up customer empathy and deep knowledge of our partners, end users, consumers, administrators, and other identified audiences. Represent your research to diverse audiences across the organization. Handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently Provide coaching and mentorship to more junior researchers 4+ years product development experience conducting research, or a Masters degree/PhD with 2+ years of product development experience ~ Experience utilizing various research methods (e.g., usability studies,



contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.) ~ Able to leverage research to make the business successful, applying your technical understanding to accomplish company goals. ~ Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross‑functional partners to drive impact ~ Experience with products made for developers, administrators, or other technical audiences ~ Communicate effectively with all levels of management and company personnel ~ Possess empathy for users, knowledge of and passion for the technical experiences ~ Bachelor's degree in anthropology, sociology, psychology, human‑computer interaction (or other related field) In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
