Could you be the full-time Interlocking (IXL) Hardware Design Engineer in Toronto, ON, we’re looking for? Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and effective movement of trains by designing and standardizing Interlocking (IXL) system architectures and configurations. Day-to-day,
you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project IXL Design Leaders, V&V teams, Installation & Testing teams), analyze customer and product requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement in hardware solutions. You’ll specifically take care of designing hardware configurations, power distribution architectures, and documentation for signaling equipment, but also support project deployment and debugging activities. We’ll look to you for: Delivering design scheme plan layouts, hardware configuration drawings, BOPs, BOMs, and signaling equipment room layouts. Designing AC/DC power distribution architectures, including main distribution panels and subpanels for redundant signaling systems. Performing power load analysis and designing backup power configurations using battery backups, UPS, and automatic
