United Wire & Cable (UWC), a GCG company, is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering team in Richmond Hill, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators responsible for delivering engineering solutions that support customer projects, product development initiatives, and business growth across our electrical wire and cable portfolio. As a member of the United Wire & Cable Business Leadership Team , you will play an important role in shaping engineering priorities, developing team capabilities, improving engineering processes, and ensuring resources are aligned to the highest-value opportunities. This position combines people leadership, operational oversight, and technical guidance to help drive quality, consistency, and execution across the organization. Work Arrangement This is a hybrid position based out of our Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada location . What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Oversee engineering workload planning and resource allocation to ensure projects are prioritized and executed effectively Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with strategic objectives and customer needs Establish and maintain engineering standards, templates, and best practices that improve quality, consistency,



and efficiency Identify and implement process improvements that reduce cycle times and enhance project execution Monitor project progress, remove obstacles, and help teams resolve technical and operational challenges Drive product development initiatives, including new product introduction, product enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts Coordinate certification testing and support compliance with applicable industry standards and requirements Serve as a technical resource and engineering liaison for cross-functional teams throughout the organization Support recruiting, onboarding, and talent development efforts to strengthen the engineering organization Participate as a member of the Business Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and business growth initiatives What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience 10+ years of CAD engineering experience within a technical, manufacturing, or industrial environment Prior experience leading and developing engineering or technical teams Strong proficiency with CAD tools and engineering documentation practices Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage competing business demands Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills Preferred Qualifications Experience within power distribution, electrical products, wire and cable,
