Become a Former Youth in Care Support Navigator at Okanagan College and empower students facing challenges. Provide outreach, guidance, and vital support services in a vibrant campus community.The Navigator reports to the Manager of Financial Aid and Award, assisting prospective and current Former Youth in Care students. You'll deliver essential support by connecting students with educational funding and community resources.
Building meaningful relationships is key to navigating their unique challenges and fostering academic success.Key Responsibilities:- Offer one-on-one support for students with complex challenges- Maintain understanding of College support services- Collaborate with partners to identify and develop supportive strategies- Conduct outreach and monitor progress of students- Assist with funding applications and administrative tasksRequirements:- Grade 12 education plus one-year post-secondary education- 1-2 years of relevant experience working with at-risk populations- Solid interpersonal and intercultural skills- Ability to interpret complex policies and processes- Excellent judgment in sensitive situationsSupport Former Youth in Care students at Okanagan College through guidance, advocacy, and empowerment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
