As a ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer in our Corporate IT division, you'll be at the heart of designing, developing, and supporting business-critical applications that power Sun Life's operations. You'll collaborate with experienced teams in an Agile environment to build scalable, reliable solutions that matter.
This role combines hands-on development with operational excellence.
What will you do?
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions
Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs
Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools
Partner with cross-functional teams—engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders—to deliver real results
Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Provide hands-on application support,
resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues
Contribute to clear system and project documentation
Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices
Identify and drive automation opportunities that enhance efficiency
Join rotational on-call support to ensure production systems run smoothly
What do you need to succeed?
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Recent graduates with 0–2 years of internship/co-op experience, OR professionals with 3–5 years of software development or application support experience
Technical Skills
Hands-on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar
Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting) –
Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps)
Bonus: APIs, integrations, enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or modern DevOps practices
