Course Description

This course focuses on contemporary passive building enclosure systems and reviews appropriate system and component selection, environmental relevance, performance, construction sequence and coordination with related active building systems.The integration of the building envelope system and related systems will be actively reinforced through practical applications coordinated with the Comprehensive Building Project Studio.

Enrollment: 150 Class schedule: MO 09:00 - 12:00 Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027 Hours: 50 Salary: $55.25/hour plus of vacation pay

Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture or Building Science preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching Building Science and its applications in Architectural design. The candidate will need to evaluate, consult, and advise students in a lab setting on assignments based on Building Systems Detailing and Design.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoretical levels, is highly desirable.

and teach this course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
