SHIPPING/RECEIVING - Manager, Shipping & Receiving The Manager, Shipping and Receiving is responsible for managing all aspects of the receiving department and contributing to company objectives through handling, care, storage and distribution of goods to ensure customer service standards are met and profitability targets are achieved. The role maintains an efficient flow of merchandise from the receiving door to the sales floor and ensures a high level of inventory integrity.
Responsibilities - Receives merchandise and local deliveries, ensures proper documentation of receiving and returns, unloads trucks, confirms accurate piece counts, and dates boxes.
- Process all required paperwork and maintain records for reporting and tracking. Ensure proper receiving standards are followed according to SOP. Address shortages/overages per procedures.
- Maintain GT audit awareness and compliance for all shipping/receiving activities. Complete applicable self-audit portions and identify opportunities with management to implement action plans.
- Organize the backroom, assemble and display pre-packs. Maintain an organized work area in line with policies, procedures and safety regulations.
- Complete planogram adjustments and ensure signage and talkers are displayed according to operating standards.
- Assist with merchandising execution to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction. Support development of floor standards, visual merchandising, customer service standards, and sales techniques.
- Handle product transfers to other store locations, inbound and outbound.
- Track shipments and verify receipts as required.
- Complete cycle counts and follow the SSC cycle count schedule. Manage RTVs and follow up as needed. Track and follow up on Special Orders.
- Ensure actual inventory on hand is accurately received and matches the inventory management system. Manage negative on hand (NOH) items to maintain accuracy.
- Support the business as needed, which could include acting as Manager on Duty (MOD), customer service, or assistance on the sales floor.
- Pricing and tagging incoming product with attention to detail. Assist with inventory adjustments and price changes. Other duties as required - Special projects - Department responsibilities Essential Requirements and Qualifications - High school education; computer literacy skills preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant retail sales experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in receiving is an asset.
- Robust organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift repetitively and to handle shop standards; physically able to lift, bend and carry objects (20-25 lbs). Must be able to use necessary equipment (e.g., pump truck).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently. Must wear safety shoes.
Work Hours - Flex schedule with some weekends and evenings.
