Sunwest Immigration & Visa Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC-IRB) to join our growing team. This role requires expertise in refugee and litigation matters, along with a solid understanding of Canadian immigration programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), including RAD, RPD, IAD, and ID matters.
- Provide professional advice and prepare applications for refugee claims, appeals, and other immigration programs.
- Draft persuasive submissions, affidavits, and supporting documentation for complex cases.
- Conduct client consultations, assess eligibility, and recommend immigration strategies.
- Stay up to date with IRCC policies, Ministerial Instructions, and recent case law.
- Maintain accurate client records in compliance with CICC standards.
- Collaborate with other consultants and lawyers on litigation and immigration files.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
- Must hold the RCIC-IRB designation.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience handling refugee claims and appeals.
- Strong knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent legal writing and research skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English required; additional languages such as Urdu, Hindi, or Punjabi are an asset).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple files under deadlines.
- Proficiency with case management systems, Microsoft Office, and online filing portals.
Preferred Assets:
- Prior experience in spousal sponsorships, work permits, PR pathways, and humanitarian applications (H&C;).
- Knowledge of Canadian case law and jurisprudence relevant to refugee and sponsorship cases.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and trauma-informed client care.
