We continually adapt and innovate to meet emerging needs and live out our mission, vision and values of hope, service, dignity and stewardship.Position Purpose SummaryThe role will provide general support to various services in the Community and Family Services setting of a Ministry Unit.AccountabilitiesSeasonal Projects such as Kettles, Christmas Hampers, backpacks, feeding programs, etc.Work independently and in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.Provide general assistance during public relations events and regular campaigns.Maintain strict confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the program participants.Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs.Provide supervision and support to children and youth during various programs.Assist with basic administrative tasks – photocopying, greeting visitors, supporting reception, processing donations, etc. as required.Maintain a log of activities including reporting statistics.Assist in the organization, maintenance,
and general cleanliness of the work areas.Assist with MU/facility general clean‑up and set‑up for different activities.Provide general information to visitors.Collaborate with Community Ministries Coordinator to ensure effective program delivery.Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.Working ConditionsWork is typically in the corps building and outdoors in all weather conditions.Some work on weekends and evenings may be required.Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.Must be able to deal with upset people or challenging behaviours.Education, Experience and QualificationsWillingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.Compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abiding by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.Two years of relevant experience.Comfortable using and maintaining a digital database.Knowledge and skill in social media platforms and management.Experience in event planning.Completion of a formal post‑secondary program of two academic years.CPR, First Aid and Non‑Violent Crisis Training or willingness to complete once hired.Mandatory Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) and Driver’s Abstract must be satisfactory.Must maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.Must be creative, flexible, and represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.Must have good listening and interpersonal skills, as well as solid oral and written communication skills.Compensation and BenefitsThe target hiring range for this position is $19.09 to $23.87, with a maximum of $28.64. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
