Position Summary The Senior Specialist, SAP S/4HANA Platform Support is responsible for the governance, optimization, security, stability, and continuous evolution of the SAP S/4HANA platform. This role provides deep technical leadership across the SAP ecosystem, including S/4HANA, HANA Database, Fiori, SAP Integration technologies, SAP Security, Cloud Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery, Data Volume Management, and platform modernization initiatives.

The incumbent serves as a senior technical advisor and ensures the SAP platform remains secure, scalable, performant, resilient, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards while supporting critical finance and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

SAP S/4HANA Platform Operations

Own platform health, reliability, availability, and system performance.

Lead root cause analysis of complex technical issues.

Establish platform standards, procedures, and operational best practices.

Drive automation and operational efficiency improvements.

SAP Upgrades & Lifecycle Management

Lead S/4HANA release upgrades, support package implementation, kernel upgrades, and platform maintenance activities.

Develop upgrade strategies and technical migration plans.

Conduct impact assessments and risk mitigation planning.

Ensure platform supportability and vendor compliance.

Cloud, Infrastructure & Disaster Recovery

Lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and validation activities.

Support infrastructure modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, and SAP landscapes.

Ensure adherence to resiliency and recovery objectives.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Act as senior technical liaison with SAP and strategic vendors.

Provide technical leadership to project teams and delivery partners.

Influence enterprise architecture decisions and technology roadmaps.

Mentor junior Basis, Security, and Platform specialists.

Required Qualifications





Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.

SAP certifications preferred.

Experience

5+ years of SAP technical platform experience.

5+ years supporting SAP S/4HANA environments.

Experience with large-scale, highly integrated SAP landscapes.

Proven experience leading critical platform modernization or cloud transformation programs.

Technical Expertise

SAP Platform: S/4 Hana, DB, BTP

SAP Security: Security Hardening, Audit Compliance

Database and Optimization: Hana Admin, Performance tunning, Capacity Planning, Data Archiving, workload optimization

Cloud & Infra: AWS IaaS, PaaS, Storage, Automation & IaC, Linux Admin and HA (clustering), DR.

Leaderhsip Competencies: strong problem solving and analytical skills, & ability to lead modernization initiatives.

Platform lifecycle: S/4 Hana upgrades, Kernel upgrades, system migrations

Salary

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses,
