Advance your career in healthcare with George Brown College's Personal Support Worker (PSW) program. This enriching two-semester curriculum trains students to assist the elderly and those with chronic illnesses, emphasizing hands-on learning and clinical practice. The PSW program is conducted at the Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences at Waterfront Campus.
Classes run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, aligning with the evolving demands of healthcare. Students will undertake supervised clinical practicums, providing valuable exposure to real-world challenges across the Greater Toronto Area. Key Responsibilities:
Complete clinical practicums under faculty supervision
Attend scheduled classes throughout semesters
Engage with clients in community and care settings
Teach personal care and accessibility needs
Comply with all health and safety requirements Requirements:
High school diploma with Grade 12 English
Documented medical records and vaccinations
Annual renewal of Vulnerable Sector Check
Completion of Pre-placement health documentation
