Accounting SpecialistA c alling, not just a role.Catholic Christian Outreach is a young and dynamic Catholic movement dedicated to fulfilling the Church’s mission of evangelization on university campuses and beyond. The Finance & Properties Department plays a key role in establishing a strong foundation to support the fulfillment of this mission. The Sr. Accounting Specialist contributes to ensuring our fiscal responsibilities are upheld and aligned to serve the heart of our mission with integrity, professionalism and excellence.In addition to the qualifications listed below, the person who fills this position is excited about the opportunity to support CCO’s mission and vision to fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission. They desire to use their technical skills to serve the advancement of the Gospel across the world.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in the coordination and processing of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General LedgerContribute to the national budget processAssist with the preparation and analysis of regular financial statementsAs requested, maintain & develop solid internal controls in keeping the Financial Edge database cleanPerform period-end procedures, as assignedStrengthen processes, systems and efficiencies, as requestedPerform account investigations and reconciliations, as neededCommunicate with vendors/clients/employees via phone, email, mail or personallyAssist with various payroll functionsDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.5+ years of experience in finance operationsStrong understanding of finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and reporting.Strong analytical skillsSolid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Proficient in accounting softwareAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.Experience with financial statement preparation.Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlinesExcellent communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities .PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of compliance requirements related to financial operationsCPA (Chartered Skilled Accountant) or other equivalent certificationsExperience with Blackbaud software solutions (Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, etc.)Experience in a senior or supervisory role.Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.G., Tableau, Power BI).Exceptional interpersonal skills.Proactive, detail-oriented,

This includes taking the initiative to lead CCO Catholic Faith studies, share the kerygma (through tools like the Ultimate Relationship booklet ), and/or participation in the evangelization efforts of CCO, including opportunities to participate in CCO Missions.Actively practicing Catholic, in good standing, willing to uphold Catholic moral teachings, while leading a life that exhibits fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
