Structural Ironworker Job Overview

Join our growing commercial construction team as a Structural Ironworker. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and erection of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, mass timber systems, and steel decking on commercial construction projects throughout the local area. This is a hands-on position working on active construction sites, requiring a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.

Our crews work on a variety of commercial projects including structural steel buildings, glulam and CLT installations, miscellaneous metals, precast support steel, steel modifications, and metal decking systems. Responsibilities

- Erect and install structural steel including beams, columns, braces, joists, and miscellaneous metals.
- Install mass timber systems including CLT panels, glulam beams, NLT, and other engineered wood products.
- Install metal decking (Q-Deck) and other roof and floor deck systems.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and shop drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform field modifications including cutting, fitting, drilling, burning, and welding structural steel as required.
- Drill and install concrete anchors, epoxy anchors, and mechanical anchors in accordance with engineered drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with rigging, signaling, hoisting, and positioning structural components using cranes and telehandlers.
- Bolt, align, plumb, and secure structural steel components to required tolerances.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, grinders,



magnetic drills, and other construction equipment.
- Work closely with welders, crane operators, supervisors, and other trades to complete installations efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies and site-specific requirements.

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Structural Ironworker or Structural Steel Erector in commercial construction.
- Ability to read structural drawings, erection plans, and shop drawings.
- Experience installing structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and steel decking (Q-Deck).
- Experience with mass timber installation (CLT, Glulam, NLT) is considered a strong asset.
- Experience performing field welding, steel modifications, and concrete anchor installation is an asset.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, magnetic drills, and layout equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights and lifting heavy materials in an outdoor construction environment.
- Strong understanding of safe rigging practices and fall protection requirements.
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a professional crew.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are preferred.

Pay: $24.00-$40.00 per hour
