Lead community-facing initiatives in Yellowknife as the Director of Community Services. Enhance public facilities, programs, and partnerships to respond to the city's evolving needs. Reporting directly to the City Manager, you will provide strategic leadership across various community and recreational services.
This role encompasses oversight of several direct reports while driving accountability, performance measurement, and resource allocation. Your ability to strengthen service standards and foster relationships with community partners and Indigenous organizations will be essential. Key Responsibilities:
Set strategic direction and translate Council priorities
Strengthen operational accountability and service standards
Manage departmental budgeting and resource allocation
Support employee development and succession planning
Guide the management of parks and community assets
Requirements:
Relevant university degree and 10+ years of experience
Robust background in multidisciplinary team leadership
Experience in municipal services and public-facing roles
Knowledge of budget management and intergovernmental partnerships
Ability to foster inclusion and collaboration across teams
