GFL Environmental is looking for full-time AZ/DZ Emergency Response Operators to support our liquid line of business out of our Thunder Bay, Ontario site. The successful candidates will be primarily responsible for the collection of various liquid and solid hazardous waste from various customer sites. (Relocation Fee* ~Sign-on Bonus ~ Be a part of the Full-Cycle Project initiative – a way to give back to the community ~ Overtime pay The Emergency Response Operator will respond to various incidents such as: Environmental and Industrial spills Highway incidents involving tractor trailers, accidents, and chemical leaks Train derailments involving hazardous chemicals, fires, and site safety planning. Marine operations mostly regarding fuel spills into open bodies of water.

Involving boom deployment and boat operations. Weather event responses involving wind/ice storms, forest fires, and flooding. Chemical assessments and advisory services. Working alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada,



and other stakeholders.

Incidents involving heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters. Collection of hazardous and non-hazardous goods Participating in job specific and health & safety training as required Perform work in a secure manner, so as not to endanger oneself or others Reporting workplace hazards, accidents or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and minimizes risk Must have adaptable availability.
