Access to professionally-designed fitness facility, serene outdoor spaces for walking and running, and direct access to John Dean Park Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms, welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals. As a Support Worker Team Lead, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What You’ll Be Doing Advocate and help develop and implement care plans and be a strong advocate for the patient.

Conduct patient tours of the building and bag searches.

Assist nursing staff with morning routines including waking patients and medication reminders.

Monitor patient attendance at breakfast, lunch and dinner to ensure participation.

Lead evening group sessions and facilitate tech time.





Support interdisciplinary staff with various programming including recreation therapy, therapeutic walks, groups therapy and 1:1 support as needed.

Observe patients and reports unsafe conditions and behavioral, physical, and/or cognitive changes.

Perform delegated tasks according to training and procedures.

Complete and maintain related records and documentation such as Case Works progress notes and communication logs.

Respond safely to resolve crisis situations and respond nonjudgmentally to problematic behaviour.

Act in a manner to respect the customs, individuality, values, and spiritual beliefs of the patient.

Provide emotional support to patients to ensure effective engagement while maintaining professional boundaries.

Create and maintain professional and supportive relationships with all members of staff and agencies to enhance recovery.

Provide escort duties for the patient including medical and lab appointments.

Ensure all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality and seek guidance when unsure.

Assume responsibility and accountability for own professional development, educational or consultative assistance.

Facilitates recovery management communication with alumni as needed.

Conduct weekly medical supply inventory for the facility. What We’re Looking For Certificate in Community Social Services - Mental Health and Addictions Worker, a graduate of a Health Care Assistant program, or recognized Health Care worker educational program such as Community Health Worker Program

Current First Aid/CPR Certification for Health Care Providers (Level 1 or greater)

Knowledge of community, social and health resources





Knowledge of substance misuse and of problems encountered by chemically dependent individuals

Basic understanding of behavior management

Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment

Ability to establish and maintain rapport with patients

Ability to observe and recognize changes in patients

Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations, manage aggressive behaviour, and use non-violent crisis intervention and behavioural management techniques

Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
