Job Role: Deputy Manager - Civil Designs (Solar EPC - Ground Mount Projects)

Qualification: BE/BTech in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design skilled to lead and manage design engineering for ground-mounted solar EPC projects. The role involves developing optimized, cost-effective, and site-specific civil designs while coordinating closely with project execution, procurement, and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities

- Civil Design & Engineering
- Develop and review civil design packages for solar PV projects including:
- Module mounting structure (MMS) foundations (pile/raft/open foundations)
- Inverter/transformer foundations
- Control room and switchyard structures
- Internal roads and drainage systems
- Perform design calculations, quantity estimation, and BOQ preparation.
- Optimize designs for cost efficiency, constructability, and site conditions.

- Geotechnical & Structural Analysis

- Review geotechnical investigation reports and recommend suitable foundation systems.
- Conduct/validate structural design calculations considering wind loads, soil parameters, and seismic conditions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant IS codes and industry standards.

- Design Coordination & Vendor Management

- Coordinate with EPC teams, structural consultants, and vendors for design finalization.
- Review and approve vendor drawings and design submissions.




- Provide technical clarifications during tendering and execution stages.

- Project Support & Execution Interface

- Support site teams with design clarifications, revisions, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in value engineering and design optimization discussions.
- Ensure timely issuance of good-for-construction (GFC) drawings.

- Quality & Compliance

- Ensure all designs meet quality standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings and design data.
- Support internal and external audits related to design and engineering.

- Planning & Reporting

- Track design deliverables against project timelines.
- Provide regular updates on design status, risks, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with procurement for material specifications and technical approvals.

Key Requirements

- Experience working in a corporate/design office environment supporting multiple projects.
- Ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously.
- Good communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Strong expertise in ground-mounted solar project design.
- Proficiency in design tools/software such as AutoCAD, STAAD, ETABS, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of IS codes, structural design principles, and construction practices.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
