Join the Government of Yukon's Whitehorse Corrections Centre as a full time Corrections Officer 1. Engage with inmates and ensure their safety while fostering respectful relationships. As part of the Department of Justice's team, this position involves operational activities at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre.

You will work various shifts and ensure security, providing direction, guidance, and a supportive setting for adult inmates. This role emphasizes positive change, respect, and equity throughout interactions. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain security and safety of adult inmates
Provide orientation and guidance to inmates
Engage inmates in productive programming
Work various shifts as required
Communicate effectively and respectfully Requirements:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Completion of Basic Correctional Officer Training
Experience supervising inmates in corrections
Certification in Use of Force techniques
Valid Security and Medical clearances Utilize your skills in corrections, supervision, and leadership to support positive inmate experiences at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre.
