Position Description An Ecole Duchess Park Secondary School teacher is required for 0.5714 FTE (P3 & P4) (Semester One Only) to teach Science 9 & 10. The position is a limited duration contract. Applicants with assessment and trauma‑informed practice experience are preferred. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, including Indigenous, Black, people of colour, all genders, 2SLGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities.
Qualifications and Experience Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional.
Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.
A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.
Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).
The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.
Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.
Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.
A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of robust organization and classroom management skills.
A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.
A current,
valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.

Copy of letter from the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada outlining any work restrictions/requirements/deadlines if such documentation is in place.
Compensation Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC; up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country.
Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681, based on TQS and prior experience.
Benefits as per collective agreement with options to enroll in Dental, Extended Health, and Group Life Insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.
