About the roleWe’re looking for aBusiness Development Account Managerto join our team in the Edmonton, AB office.This is a permanent full‑time position reporting to the Business Development Director.What you’ll do hereDevelop and implement a business development plan to achieve growth objectives and build relationships with brokerage firms in your responsibility.Participate in the development of the premium budget for your territory.Implement business‑development activities adapted to the realities of the brokers (segmentation and broker profile), and adjust your approach and strategies accordingly.Present and sell Intact’s global offer to create and maintain excitement and proximity within the brokerage network.Know the market and the workplace in which it evolves. Monitor all company activities that influence the business relationships of the brokers under your responsibility.Advise brokerage firms on marketing solutions to promote the growth of sales related to Intact products and services.Use Intact’s marketing intelligence to seize business opportunities and identify threats (sale‑purchase merger).Collaborate with your manager and directors to motivate the underwriting team to achieve a consistent and sustained level of engagement.Share network knowledge with the team and act as a business‑development mobilizer.Represent your role and region on various regional and provincial committees and advise other areas of the company (Actuarial, Finance, HR, Marketing and other departments).What you bring to the tableA dynamic personality with at least 5 years proven track record of building strong broker relationships, including regular face‑to‑face visits, negotiation skills,
networking and attending insurance‑industry events.A strategically minded person who can cultivate relationships with successful sales growth results and speak knowledgeably about Property and Casualty insurance.Commercial Lines underwriting experience strongly preferred.Ability to influence business relationships to achieve business development and growth objectives.Solid communication skills with brokers, understanding their needs and providing solutions with Intact’s insurance products and services.Good knowledge of the brokerage network and insurance products (home and business).Availability to attend various activities outside normal business hours.Adept at handling objections and able to negotiate moderate to complex situations.Good management of the pressure to achieve objectives.Demonstration of a high level of autonomy, organization and proactivity.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Good knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online presentation tools.Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a positive driving record.No Canadian work experience required; you must be eligible towork in Canada.Compensation & BenefitsSalary range (but not limited to):94,200 - 115,200Annual bonus targetbased on the base salary, with a potential payout of up todouble the target(subject to personal and company performance): 12%As part of our commitment to Win As A Team, we share our success with employees through our annual bonus plan and Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP).
