Introduction
We are seeking a Service Technician to join our Field Service Operations – Wabush Service Center team. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on mining and aggregates equipment, which involves working hands‑on at customer sites to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance. Your role plays a crucial part in supporting customer operations and maximizing equipment uptime, which will positively impact customer satisfaction, safety, and productivity. In this position, you will report to the Service Supervisor / Service Manager.
This position is mainly located in Wabush, Labrador, however, it involves up to 50–70% travel to customer sites within the region.

You will join a team of field service professionals with strong mechanical and technical expertise who are passionate about providing high‑quality service and long‑term customer support. The team strives to ensure safe operations, equipment reliability, and excellent customer outcomes.
We are currently working on scheduled maintenance, equipment overhauls, troubleshooting activities, and commissioning projects at customer sites.
We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, planners, service coordinators, engineers, and parts & logistics teams. Our team culture is all about safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The members of our team are located across the Wabush Service Center and regional customer sites.
What you’ll do
Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and inspections on crushing, screening,
and other mining equipment
Execute preventive maintenance and shutdown work in accordance with safety and quality standards
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions
Support equipment installations, commissioning, and upgrades at customer sites
Complete service reports, documentation, and work orders accurately and on time
Work closely with customers to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment
Follow Metso and customer HSE policies, procedures, and best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement in service quality and work practices
Who you are
Technical diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance
Experience working with mining, aggregates, or heavy industrial equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
Safety‑focused mindset with experience working in industrial or mine‑site environments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote or field‑based settings
Good communication skills and a customer‑oriented approach
Willingness and ability to travel and work irregular hours as required
Nice to have: Previous experience with Metso equipment or similar OEM products

For positions that may be performed in Ontario, the expected salary range is $82,000.00 –$110,000.00 CAD per year. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on skills, experience, and role‑related qualifications. Compensation for roles performed outside Ontario will be determined in accordance with applicable local laws and market conditions.
