Responsibilities

Supporting & maintaining a wide range of personal computers and related business devices such as printers, fax machines, videoconferencing equipment, peripherals, and email systems found throughout the hospital.

Working with external partners and vendors.

Leading investigations; performing root‑cause analysis on IT problems; providing solutions using specific product knowledge, system utilities, and operating environment.

Identifying and assisting in the resolution of application issues.

Gaining a working knowledge of all applications within your portfolio.

Developing, recommending, and implementing best practices wherever possible and appropriate.

Working with users to develop user requirements and translating them into technical requirements.

Proactively maintaining and supporting systems to ensure uptime and reduce the need for users to call in issues.

Administering and distributing hospital spare parts inventory.

Maintaining accurate and current records on repair, installation, and removal of equipment.

Providing appropriate logging and tracking of hardware malfunctions.

Conducting research to solve issues and recommending solutions as required.

Recommending improvements to operating procedures, writing and maintaining hardware manuals.

Working day shift primarily, but occasionally evening, weekend, and On‑Call rotation work will be required (often on short notice) to address emerging client issues.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements

Successful completion of a university and/or college diploma in a computer technology program or related field.

A+ certification is mandatory.

Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)



and VMware certification is preferred.

Experience with Meditech and other healthcare information applications is preferred.

Physically able to lift, stretch, bend, and walk in order to interact with equipment found throughout the hospital.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate tactfully, effectively, and with discretion with all levels of staff and management.

Operational experience in managing medium to large‑scale environments (>500 systems) for regular provisioning, patching, application packaging, and deployment.

Minimum 3 years’ experience with expert level proficiency in Microsoft, Windows 7, 8, and Microsoft Office 2013/16 or later; MS Server 2008/12; MS SQL 2008/12; Office 365; VMware; VOIP solutions; Antivirus; and Citrix Desktop.

Experience and knowledge of Apple hardware and OS/iOS support.

Hands‑on hardware/software troubleshooting experience including documenting issues in a ticketing system.

Experience writing design and technical documents including Visio drawings, process maps, and project plans.

Ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload, and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.

Ability to present ideas and solutions in user‑friendly language.

Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.





Knowledge of the following enterprise technologies: Active Directory, DNS services, Citrix end‑user support, Group Policy management, File Systems management & Security, and remote systems access (considered an asset).

Ability to prioritize calls based on urgency.

Confirming with client that issues have been resolved prior to closing calls.

Completing paperwork such as open calls, requisitions, etc.

Must have had at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.

Starting salary of $36.45/hour; $71,077.50/year and ranges to $39.47/hour; $76,966.50/year.
